This has taken a lot of time and thought to write this update, but we feel it's better if everything is in the open.
2022 was the BEST and WORST of years for Amber Mary Steer and I. We got married and started our married life! However, within a short amount of time, we have gone through two miscarriages. (Super common, which affects everyone differently. Please know we are here if anyone wants to talk about it) But it has made us stronger, and we are not all doom and gloom all the time! This has led Amber and me to reassess our life direction, at least for this year! (welcome Frank the pup)...
Before Christmas, I left being a director at Root One to spend more time at home, Continue studying(environmental science) and explore other routes. Our time is precious, make memories and continue to learn and grow.
During this healing time with close friends. An opportunity to trek across Nepal with Jenn Gaskell (adventure buddy since the spine 2013). A trip like this would have been off the cards normally, but being encouraged by Amber that this is the time. There is unlikely to be another opportunity to do this. So I've committed to the Great Himalayan Trail.
The Route is roughly 1700km from East to West Nepal through the Himalayas. Passing 18 x 5000m passes and 2 x 6000m passes. (Yes mum I'll be safe!)
We have made a website to follow us on this journey. I would like to seize this opportunity, and the aim is to inspire others to do things to push their mental and physical selves in positive ways. Follow our journey and we will see what it can lead to in the future.
