We are lucky to confirm that iam-treks will guide us on our Great Himalaya Trail attempt. The team have just completed the first winter crossing of the high passes in December, so they are extremely knowledgeable of the route and current conditions. As they change from season to season with glacial movements etc.
Sonam Sherpa (Guide) - Will Join us in our tent as a
three person team for the first 19 days. from Taplejung to Kangchenjunga base camp, then through the "enchanted forest" to Makalu base camp
During this time, Pema noru Sherpa will be accompanying another group to Everest base camp - returning to Kathmandu and then
bringing our climbing equipment and resupply bag to Makalu base camp.
We will then continue as a 4 over Sherpani Coll (6157m), West Coll (6121m) and Amphu lapcha (5827m). These are the highest and possibly the most technical on the route. And will take approximately 6 days. after when we arrive in Dingboche we will decide if we continue north, allowing the Sonam and Pema noru a well-earned rest. or stay low and go to Namche
